Our journey began in 1992 with the establishment of Equi Trade Associates (Pvt) Limited, initially operating as an equipment and machinery trading company. As the Sri Lankan civil conflict intensified, we adapted to the evolving needs of the nation by supporting the Armed Forces and serving as the local agent for leading U.S. manufacturers, including Alliant Techsystems (ATK), Thiokol Propulsion, and RUBB Building Systems.

While these opportunities contributed to our growth, our long-term vision remained firmly rooted in the Industrial and Construction Machinery sector. To realise this ambition, Tisara Engineering Services (Pvt) Limited was officially incorporated in 2002.

Since then, we have consistently pioneered industry-leading solutions and introduced innovative technologies to the Sri Lankan market. In 2002, we became the first company to introduce Energy-Saving Variable Speed Drive Compressors to Sri Lanka. In 2011, we supplied the country’s first track-mounted mobile crushing plant, a complete Powerscreen solution comprising a jaw crusher, cone crusher, and screening unit, which played a key role in the Colombo–Katunayake Expressway project.

Our commitment to innovation continued with the introduction of Aerial Work Platforms (AWPs), offering safer and more efficient alternatives to traditional scaffolding for high-rise construction projects. Expanding our footprint beyond Sri Lanka, we supplied a Genie Z45/25 to the Maldivian Air Taxi Hangar—the first machine of its kind deployed in the Maldives.

We have also delivered several landmark industrial solutions. In 2016, we supplied the main instrumentation air compressor for critical refinery operations at the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation. The following year, we supplied the largest screw compressor in Sri Lanka at the time—a 250kW CompAir L290 unit—to South Asia Textiles, supporting their large-scale manufacturing operations.

As our business evolved, we recognised that our customers required more than equipment alone—they needed complete, integrated solutions. In response, we obtained CIDA EM5 and C7 Grade certifications, enabling us to undertake turnkey civil, mechanical, and electrical construction projects associated with our equipment installations. To further support our clients, we established a dedicated machinery rental division, providing access to world-class equipment through flexible operational expenditure (OpEx) models and reducing the burden of significant upfront capital investment.

Today, in 2026, we proudly celebrate more than three decades of engineering excellence. Tisara Engineering Services has grown into one of Sri Lanka’s most trusted engineering solution providers, serving key industries across Sri Lanka and the Maldives. We proudly represent globally recognised brands including CompAir, KION Baoli, Sinoboom, Powerscreen, Massenza, Robuschi, and Elmo Rietschle.
